So, what did you do this summer? The summer of Covid, the summer of no camps, no grand vacations, no large family reunions. Thanks to direct exposure from a co-worker, our family had to cancel our annual trip to Lake Tahoe. Not going to lie, it hurt bad. But we now had an extra two weeks on our hands, so why not make the best of it and do some projects around the house? It started on a whim... A friend of mine posted that she was making a faux wall to use a photo prop for her handmade signs. That sparked a project I've had on my list for a long time. Living in Southern California, not all houses come with fire...
Well, here we are, week 7 of the Shelter at Home order, aka, Quarantine! It feels like a lifetime since I wasn't "the worst homeschool teacher ever", and Target runs were just for fun. But on the up side, there's plenty of time for all those home projects that have been on the to-do list for an eternity. I've been working my way down the list and thought I'd share one that has been my list for two years! Yes, two long years. *Quick note. I'd like to apologize for my less than stellar iPhone pics. But, now that Miss Ella is almost 7, she has some serious decor options (and opinions about EVERYTHING else!), so it was time for a change. Here's a few before pics... She decided one day that she wanted a mermaid bedroom. The whole thing was supposed to look like she was the mermaid underwater while she slept! Well, that's a pretty big project...
the truth. I can't believe it's been three whole years since I started this biz, basically on a whim. Here's the honest truth of it all, I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do when I grew up. Before my daughter's birth I had been a retail manager at a designer hand bag company, a Starbucks store manager, a Design Production Manager at a graphic design firm, a customer service rep at a property title company, a barista, a stain glass artist, and a book store display designer. Phew! My side hustles were always creative, like designing and hand making bespoke wedding invitations and family photography. Randomly, one year my sister had convinced me to buy a Silhouette Cameo so I could...
